Question: How do you feel about how the church/Christians should be involved in politics and social issues?Response: This is a great question that has both energized and polarized the church over the years. The "Moral Majority" has been diminished in its influence and many Christians, in response, have pulled away from the political scene entirely.
I believe that Christians must be involved in the political process and be heard on social issues. If we do not get involved, we concede the shaping of culture to those who do not share our values. While remaining Christlike! we must engage our world as both salt and light!
That does not mean that the church should be a political action machine. Democrats, Republicans and Independents need to be welcome in the church. Jesus must be lifted up for unbelievers to be drawn to him. It's a fine line, but one we must walk!
